Microsoft Innovation Centers provide customers and partners comprehensive set of programs and services. The goal of the Microsoft Innovation Center is to foster innovation and growth of Local Software economy (LSE) in Indonesia. In long term, Microsoft Indonesia and Microsoft Innovation Center UGM has a mission to create a foundation of “a scalable supply-demand local software economy” by enhancing the ISV/SI competence and reach an IT job creation, augmentation of software innovation, interaction with industry and a dialog with the government. Our key LSE objectives for in Indonesia are.
- Integrated LSE. Integrate the all LSE activities to industry stakeholders (ISV/SI, academic, enterprise, government institution) to drive bigger impact.
- Building ISV Muscles. Competence building, global access for local ISV/SI through collaboration with global ISV/SIs at MICs.
- Information Technology Job Creation. Create Employment opportunities for IT graduates in Indonesia. This will enable the Government of Indonesia to focus on National IT skill building.
- Create Lighthouses. Build industry leaders- ISV/SI and Success models - Academics that will inspire Indonesia. Enable and encourage the accelerated development and deployment of business solutions based on the Microsoft platform.
In MIC, Developer and Platform Group of Microsoft Innovation Center UGM and Microsoft Indonesia collaboratively focusing on student developer employability, researching, and developing of innovative software solutions with an ecosystem made up of industry, academic, and government partners.
MIC-UGM is led by the MIC Lead: Ridi Ferdiana, ST., MT. , Ridi Ferdiana is a lecturer for MTI UGM as Well as Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for almost two years. MIC UGM also mentored by a faculty as MIC Advisor: Dr. Ir. Lukito Edi Nugroho M.Sc. Lukito Edi's is the well known engineer and lecturer in electrical engineering department. Powered by wonderfull team called MIC Gokilz create and incubate empowering programs that are grouped into the following three areas that are keys to the growth of software economies in Indonesia: Skills Accelerator, Industry Partnerships, and Innovation.
- Skills Accelerator: software development courses for students and professional ISV developers, employment programs for students.
- Industry Partnership: industry clusters, software quality certification, student research.
- Product Innovation: foster local product innovation through local imagine cup competition, ISV coaching, hands-on experiences and the use of custom software development courses.
