Teacher Student Engagement - Idea Generation

After going through a series of events that run by the Microsoft in collaboration with Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB), on this occasion the participants who have passed the idea selection participated in the "Teacher Student Engagement". This activity brought about 300 students in which their ideas will be developed during this activity. In the "Teacher Student Engagement", participants were given guidance in the form of a presentation on how to make the interesting and fun game. On that occasion, participants were guided by Ridi Ferdiana as Research Advisor at MIC Yogyakarta. Not only explanations given to the students, in this session, the students were also shown a demo on how to play Kodu. Then the participants gathered together with each group to brainstorm their ideas became more detailed.

This event was held on January 28, 2016 in GSG Villa Seturan Yogyakarta. This event started at 09:00 to 13:00. The activities were divided into two sessions. First Session was together with the participants and the second session was a session with the media. This occasion did not only present students who have passed the ideas selection, but also had another session with the journalists from several presses who wish to cover this event. Not only that, the journalists also tried the game Kodu led by one of the team of MIC Yogyakarta.

This activity is part of EduApps Hackhaton initiated by Microosft Youthspark in collaboration with Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa which invited students who come from underprivileged in Yogyakarta. This activity was expected to hone the creativity of students in the use of the game. In addition, to these activities was also expected that students can develop even create a game that is interesting, fun and has educational elements.
