On 14 until March 15, 2016 Yogyakarta Education Agency invited Microsoft Innovation Center as the trainer on writing scientific papers workshops. This workshop was divided into two sessions: the first session on Monday and continued with the second session. However, in each session was attended by different students. This workshop was held at SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta and each session was attended by 25 students.

This workshop discussed in depth about how to write scientific papers. This workshop aims to produce output in the form of an abstract that would written by each participant. The Material that was explained by the trainer was how to get started writing scientific papers and it started from brainstorming ideas up to the conclusion. Participants were also taught to make good references properly and it is based on the rules. The students were also given some references sites on the Internet that they can use to search for journals from existing research. In the first session of this workshop led by Findra as a trainer and lecturer from Universitas Atma Jaya and then continued in the second session were trained by Ridi Ferdiana as research advisor at Microsoft Innovation Center.

This event is expected that students can enhance their writing skills such as writing a paper or journal. Besides, with given sufficient material, students are expected to create scientific papers which can publish not only in Indonesia but they can also enhance their writing up to the international scene. Lastly, the students should learn how to avoid plagiarism in their writing in order to produce written journal that is good and properly.
