Tuesday, April 5, 2016, Microsoft Innovation Center held Mini Workshop on one of Microsoft tools called Sway. This workshop with the theme “Tutorial Development with Microsoft Office 365 + Sway” was held at Virtual Library in the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gajah Mada. This was held starting from 09.00 to 12.00 and this was led by trainer from MIC. In addition, this workshop was attended by 30 participants from master degree students at UGM.

In the academic field, many activities that required both of student and teacher to deliver their presentation. Various learning activities might allowing them to deliver an interesting presentation in order to attract the audience’s attention. One of the essential part to deliver a good presentation is how create a good presentation slide. Microsoft has a tool that can help the presenter in creating interested slide presentation that is called Sway. Sway has a platform which is different with Microsoft PowerPoint. Sway is designed for an interactive presentation in terms of its content, while PowerPoint is interactive in term of its slide transition.

This workshop aims to broader the participants’ insight about how to create an interested slide presentation using Sway. In the beginning, the participant were given a general overview about Sway. Afterward, the trainer began to describe about the steps to create a slide presentation with Sway. There were many things that was taught by the trainer. They were creating header, entering text, inserting picture or video and many more.

This workshop is expected that the participant could create an interesting presentation by using the exciting features in of Sway. Besides, features in Sway can display different look when the presenter delivers their presentation and it can certainly attract the audience.
