Education has shifted using blended learning patterns that not only emphasizes on the interaction of class but also how teachers can be mentored in academic activities in the classroom and outside classroom. This workshop aims to facilitate educators in Yogyakarta to introduce a variety of teachings’ media that can be used to support learning process using blended learning. This workshop was held at Prima Hotel Yogyakarta and run within 2 days. There were 80 participants coming from teachers across Yogyakarta. Participants were divided into two classes, each class containing 40 participants. The first class was held on June 31, 2016 and continued with the second class, which was held on June 1, 2016.
At the beginning of the workshop, the participants were asked to create a portal for profiles professionalism. When teachers have such portals, they can be expected to have the insight to know that information technology can assist learning. Afterwards, the participants entered the practice session by using one of the Microsoft educational features for education that called as OneNote. By using OneNote, the participants were expected to have a plan to develop their digital module. This workshop then continued with the use of Sway. In this session, the participants were taught about how to design teaching material in online, so the teachers have competent to use assistive devices for their content development with the use of Sway. At the last session, the trainer introduced about the Microsoft educational portal called Expert Educator. Trainer explained about opportunities to learn and become a modern teacher by joining a Microsoft Expert Educator.
After organizing this workshop, it can be expected that the teachers can enhance the technology skills to support learning process by using blended learning approach. Hence, the students can get the impact that learning can not only be done in the classroom but also outside the classroom.
