The world as we know it has changed. We are in 4th Industrial Revolution. Everything is digitalized, which in a way make our life easier, personally and professionally. Lately, we kept on hearing the phrase “Digital Transformation”. It sounds both intriguing and intimidating at the same time and many of us thought that it only applies for big enterprises and corporations.
Answering that issues, Microsoft Indonesia held workshop "Empowering Indonesia Businesses in Digital Era". This workshop attempted to learn about digital transformation can be applied to all businesses across industry regardless of its size by using Microsoft Azure. This event was led by four speakers, Kenn Elbert Firgo as Cloud and Enterprise Azure Program Manager at Microsoft Indonesia, Ricky Haryadi as Partner Technology Strategist at Microsoft Indonesia, Muhammad Fajar as Software Asset Management Consultant at Microsoft Indonesia, and Mardhani Riasetiawan as CEO & Founder DALA (Intelligent Technology Initiatives).
The presentation talked about introduction and digital transformation in Microsoft, harnessing data + AI to drive business, how to improve business internally, digitalized learning environment, and the new way to communicate through internet. The speakers went on that every organization needs to be a “Digital & Data Business”. 80% agree that key to future growth is to think and act like a digital business. Similar number agree that it is not just data, but the valuable insights that data can provide, that will unlock new revenue streams and business models. Then, there are 3 key driver unstoppable forces in business today: Data, Cloud and Analytics. Data is about internet of things connected devices, cloud is about ubiquitous and democratized cloud, and analytics is about improvements in software algorithms.
This event was held on August 16, 2017 at University Club Universitas Gadjah Mada. This event was attended by 50 participants coming from startups, companies, and students.
