In the digital era, the process of learning and teaching is not only focused in the classroom, but also by using digital tools, and in the end of the use of the digital tool will create a new culture and improving learning outcomes. By using the digital tool, the process of learning and teaching can be done from anywhere, anytime, and using any device. This will create the flexibility of the learning and teaching process, also will make it easier for educators and students to interact and discuss some topics without any distraction. One of the tools that can be used to support the learning and teaching process in the digital era is Microsoft Teams – the digital hub that can be functioned to be a learning management system, so the teachers can easily manage their activity in the digital classroom. To provide an understanding of using Teams to the teachers, MIC was facilitating as speaker of this event.
This event was held in the second quarter on 25 November 2019 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta followed by 55 participants with a background as non-government officials. This event was held by Biro Sistem Informasi UMY and facialized by Rinaldi as a trainer of MIC. The obtains of this event are introducing Microsoft 365 service to all members of the university, giving understanding how to use Microsoft 365 as a facility of the university, and introducing Microsoft Teams as a tool that can be leveraged to create a virtual classroom and communication tool for the community.
In this event, participants were explained how to use Teams as a learning management system effectively. Participants were directed to follow the step by step that shows by the speaker, start how to create a digital classroom, discussion in the digital classroom, creating and distributing assignment, reviewing assignment, until archiving the digital classroom that has been created. Participants were excited about the materials that have been delivered by the speaker, they were getting new insights about the amazing tool that can be used to create innovation in the classroom.
