The virtual classroom is an online space that is designed for learning. One of the tools that can be used to create a virtual classroom is Teams – one of Office 365 services. Microsoft Teams is one of the Learning Management System (LMS) that has many features that can be used to organize a virtual classroom easily and effectively to increase the learning outcomes of students. But we need to realize that not every teacher knowing this powerful tool. Based on this condition, MIC as organization research that has a program to improve the skill of the community has acted as a facilitator as a trainer for the event that held by MGMP Bahasa Inggris Kabupaten Sleman, namely the event “Creating a Virtual Classroom Teams” dedicated to the teachers in Yogyakarta to give awareness about a tool that can be used and optimized to create a virtual learning.

This event was held in the first quarter (Q1) on 24 September 2019 at Perpustakaan Fakultas Teknik UGM followed by 46 participants with a background as a government official and non-government official in the educational environment. Participants were explained how to create a virtual classroom using Microsoft Teams – start from how to create a classroom, managing the classroom, distributing learning materials, communication and collaboration in the classroom, distributing tasks, until how to archiving the classroom when there was a change of the new school year.

Participants of this event were excited to gather and follow the instructions given by the speaker to practice every step for creating a virtual classroom. The leader of MGMP Bahasa Inggris Kabupaten Sleman was expressing her gratitude to MIC for the willingness to teach digital literacy about a virtual classroom to all members of its community. She hopes this activity can continue so that all members of the community can have the abilities that are needed by educators in the current era.
